Mauro Corbani: CV

I was born  in Italy, where I live and work. When a child, I used to spend plenty of time in my grandfather’s workshop of joinery.  It was then that I discovered my vocation for arts. I did not follow the formal educational track. Instead, I was attracted  by real life experiences. So, I moved to Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome and Paris in search for artists from whom I could learn. In the 1970s I was hosted by a number of them and  worked with them. I met many artists, managers of art galleries, art critics and began to show my works. I have lived in Tuscany since the 1980s, but I keep travelling a lot to feed my hunger for emotions. I have developed a special interest for ancient and primitive peoples all over the world, in particular in Italy and Africa. When I come into contact with them, I am able to let my imagination wander, to tell new stories in my art works.
